 Hello! It's me! Clever Betsy! WAZ UP!!??You may or may not have heard from me recently. It all depends on who you are! I may have hassled you in the past 15 minutes. If Helloyou are my husband, the probability of that is high! If you are not my husband (which is 99% percent probable) than I may not have seen you for quite a while.I'd like to remedy that! There will be a party this Saturday. I am hosting it in honor of itself. Does a party really need to have a reason to exist? And if no one can hear the party, did it happen? NOOOOOO! So, get yourself, your kids, your husband, your dog (only if it is a fully trained purse pooch! ;-) and your own pretty hiney on down to my NEW yes I said NEW shop!!!! And help me make some NOISE for a while!!! Cha, cha, cha!!!Bella Vita helped "launch" Clever Betsy into it's new spot which is only 1 storefront away! So, BV ladies, thanks so much for catapulting us forward! Thanks too for the long hours you spent displaying our things beautifully! You did a lovely job from December of 2009 through to the present. Many thanks and much appreciation for your caring and all the fun we had Pam!!! And Brenda, you've got mad skills on the design side! This is a compliment from me in pseudo-rap style! Why!? When ~ THIS SATURDAY - NOON TO 5 PMWhere ~ YOU HAVE TO FIND IT YOURSELF - HINT - IT'S GOING TO BE ON DIXIE HIGHWAY IN DOWNTOWN HOMEWOOD, IL (1 hr trainride from the city via metra electric or 1 hr really nice bike ride up lsd and over a bit west) - LOOK FOR THE GREEN BALLOONS ALONG DIXIE HIGHWAY AND THEN THE BIG BATCH AT MY SHOP. IF SOMEONE HAS A GREEN BALLOON, THEY WILL KNOW HOW TO GET YOU TO MY SHOP. HINT - THERE WILL BE SOME SCATTERED AT THE FARMER'S MARKET.Why ~ SERIOUSLY ? STOP WITH ALL THESE QUESTIONS ALREADY OR I MAY JUST HAVE TO GET ON UP OUTTA HERE AND MOVE BACK TO MY OLD HOOD IN THE CITY!! YES We will be serving lots of yummy food and beverages. NO They are still not alcoholic beverages unless you bring your own flask and make them so. Flasks are allowed as long as you are discreet. CB shall not smell booze, see booze or generally know about booze or she will club you for your liquor especially if it is very expensive tequila, vodka or anything in the brown family such as brandy.... It's been that week!!!! ;-) Let's all help her/me stay dry!!! The bathroom will be very, very clean and there's a ledge in there... What I don't know actually WON'T hurt me in this case!MAYBE Dogs - please refer to the "purse pooch" clause above in paragraph 5, subarticle 1 (WHO HAS BEEN WRITING/REVIEWING CONTRACTS TOO LONG TO DAY!? ME, ME!) Mini manis and pedis... Not sure yet but it is a distinct possibility.PROBABLY There will be lots of amazing jewellery. DEFINITELYAn inclusive nature. I actually start off trying to like and work with everyone! I believe a great smile is the gateway to the universe (and bad breath is the yucky tunnel you have to take once in a while to get where you want to go! Ugh! Where does this stuff come from, brain!? Seriously though, If you are concerned by the way I present myself and the artist's co-op that I represent, call me and let's chat. Or jot me an e-mail and let's chat. And/or, if you are thinking of bringing a friend but you are worried that they may be offended, please call, e-mail ahead of time, use a carrier pigeon or fireworks to advise me that I need to be gentle with that person and I will. I PROMISE! Unless I think they are a jerk. If they are a jerk, I'll try 3 times. If they give me nothing back and still act like a jerk, I'll tell you your friend is a jerk and to get them out of my house! Please! Quick! Refer to the head clubbing paragraph above... ;-)))ABSOLUTELYThere will be an awesome origami folding demo. Reclaimed paper will be featured. I have a good/bad feeling that the place will be packed. If you want to actually see (and hear) Donna, doing the demo, you'll need to get there at 3:45 pm. The demo will start at 4. Sharp. Because it has to end no later than 5 pm. Because Donna has to go make me a duct tape hoodie. ;-)Hahah! This hoodie thing is becoming an inside joke between Donna and I. She showed it to me and it's the coolest thing EVA! But, Donna has a prior engagement, because she is just that COOL! So, she'll show us origami and then, if you want to see the duct tape hoodie of which I/she/we speak, you must come to the shop sometime between noon and 4 pm this Saturday. Follow the green balloons friends!!! Ooh, that sounded kinda creepy and wizard of oz-ish!!! I like it!!! Poppies.... ;-)))) "LIKE TOTALLY, FOR SURE!"IF YOU MISS BEING A CHEERLEADER.... COME BUY SOME GREEN BAGS TO BENEFIT THE HOMEWOOD PTA. NOT ONLY ARE THEY MADE OF ALL RECYCLED MATERIALS, THEY HOLD YOUR STUFF SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE BAGS TO DO SO!!!!!! YEAH! WE JUST GOT THIS IDEA TODAY AND I'M LIKE TOTALLY EXCITED ABOUT IT!!! I NEED ONE OF MY OWN FOR A DATE TOMORROW NIGHT WITH STEVEO (FROM JACKASS) I JUST HOPE HE'S STILL SOBER TOO... YA KNOW!? Kidding about this date bit. Especially if you are a friend or family member of my husband's... THE NEW SHOP is one door North of Bella Vita and only about a quarter of a mile South of the fabulous Farmer's Market that will be happening from 8 am until 1 pm on the same day. They have a really great e-waste recycling program that you can do if you have any electronic recyclables around.Our party will have a different kind of recycling going on. I'll have bins for textiles, jewelry~making supplies, mosaic making items, etc. If you have something to give, then give. If you need to receive something, then receive. If you do this and purchase a green bag to benefit the pta, you'll get to register for door prizes. There will be several! Yeah!PPS: I can process anything except American Express (sorry!). I will take cash, credit, checks, beads (YEAH!) yen, etc. BUT ~ the PTA can only do cash at this time. Fortunately, their bags are not very expensive ~ $5,$10,$15. AND ~ They have a really great cookbook for $10 too!!! If I'm ambitious enough (and / or have enough time and stamina) I'll be baking/making something from it to share with the group. WHY? Because! I like to bake and rarely have time too AND have I mentioned lately that MY kid goes to WILLOW and I'm SICK of their funding getting cut!!! And all schools everywhere in the US getting art programs cut! Hacked! Chopped off at the knees!!! Argh. That's only the one class that could teach them everything... math, science, beauty, mad skills... que se ra se ra... NO! I say NO! instead of que sera sera I revise! I say "Carpe Diem!!!"
