The site’s name, "Clever Betsy" is an inside joke – as a child I had difficulty spelling out "Elizabeth." I shortened my name to Liz as an adult. My maiden name was Liz Carr. Sometimes I still write that! Although I get my own name wrong on occasion, I alternately sprint and trudge ahead taking great satisfaction from manic "productive" phases and impatiently tolerating the "bad days."

I have a background in marketing and advertising. I loved working with a team to create exciting campaigns but the fast pace exhausted me sometimes. I was alternately relieved and annoyed when the time came for me to focus on my family. Now I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to express myself through Clever Betsy while being home with my children.

I’m blessed with a loving husband, 2 amazing kids (who will probably be making frequent appearances in this blog!) and a stupid but affectionate dog. After my family, my passion is creation.

Making unusual jewelry, stationary, oil paintings and crocheted pieces keeps me "sane" (or close enough!). My great hope is to make the world a better, brighter, more bejeweled place and to say "Hey!" to everyone else who is doing the same!

I love to write but often do so in the midst of numerous distractions so excuse any typos or logic gaps! In fact, please point them out to me as both of those things irk me.
