I am so excited about gardening this year. I can hardly wait to get all the baby plants I’ve started into the ground! Especially because my other baby, my youngest son, is crawling now and starting to pull himself up. He’s into EVERYTHING! He keeps trying to pull himself up to the ledge where I have bulbs and seeds sunning themselves just off our kitchen. My tomato plants are on the floor under a big window. They seemed to prefer indirect sun to being right in that window since it’s got an intense Southern exposure. But since they’ve been on the floor, the baby has been in their dirt constantly! I have to watch him every minute! Crazy kid!

I am planning our outdoor garden. This is our second year in this house and we haven’t gotten a chance yet to do the yard the way we want but this is the Summer to “get’er done!” So, I’ve got a draft “master plan” for the backyard and I’m cutting out pictures from magazines and compiling collages of plant groupings. I’m going to consult with a friend who is a landscape architect and see if I’m putting things together right! As soon as I have the final plans I’ll post them here. I’m trying to emphasis native plantings and I’m particularly fascinated with tall, spiky grasses combined with tall flowers…

I’d love to see any plans that others are working on… so, you know where I am. Send over any green tidbits you’d like to share. ;-)
