Yes! Wal-Mart is going to lead the way in providing consumers with a green / humanitarian index for their products!
Wal-Mart executives have acknowledged that sustainability is a top priority for the next generation of consumers. In response, they are requesting that all suppliers provide relevant data on working conditions for their laborers and the impact their products have on the environment. Manufacturing to packaging to transportation will all be addressed.
This is a huge step forward and I applaud Wal-Mart for making it. While I still prefer to shop at mom and pop places, I’m grateful to see that this giant is taking responsibility and making a momentous effort to hold itself and its competition accountable!
GO WALLY!!! GREEN THUMBS WAY UP!
